DTA AND THE CHAOS MACHINE, Reading Reflection #2

I made the following piece in refrence to content and being stuck in bubbles of content loop. How your attention gets sucked into one thing and then the next and easily could paralize a person for hours in online forums. Social media can be an all-consuming machine, taking over our lives.
Interest Graph: algorithms are formulated based on user activity, interests, and engagement with posts. Programs began to recognize that emotions, such as fear, rage, and heightened joy, become subjects that keep people glued to a site and in more frequently occuring in recent years to such an extent that it has influenced people to live in chat rooms and other anonymous spaces, often riddled with obscene and vulgar content, which sometimes persuades people into conspiracies about the government, major media outlets, and uniformed authorities—leading people to take action in real life, January 6th, and the attempted coup of the White House in 2021, when Donald Trump and his cult like following disagreed with the 2020 election results. People who turn to social media to find those like them worsen the condition of feeling alone in real life and live in echo chambers online, perpetuating their own insecurities and seeking validation from others with the same insecurities, ultimately lacking their own validation and oftentimes, spreading messages of hate and violence, completely altering people’s realities of how we exist in the world, and shifting their morals in life.
